I know what you mean about these things staying with us for many years. I've been fortunate to have some incredibly memorable experiences out in the woods over the years. This recent trip is one that I know I'll never forget. The night I spent in the Pecos Wilderness was truly magical. There was an energy in the air that night and the next morning that was just amazing! Not sure if you saw that earlier post or not. I definitely had a moment there. I feel the calling to live out West as well. Portland stands out, and I keep coming back to that in my head. Boulder would be nice as well. I'm pretty sure this will be my last Summer in Atlanta. Stay tuned... Thanks Tris!

As a teenager, the summer of my 17th year, I participated in Outward Bound, Colorado. Based out of Leadville, CO, my particular experience was one focused on "out of step" youth and was set up to last 21 days (If I remember accurately). I still look back on this trip with immense sentimentality. Not just because of the family-like culture I'd experienced by living in very close quarters with some 19 peers, but also because of the absolutely amazing and soulful qualities of the Sangre de Christo Mountains where most of the 21 days were spent. The true spirituality that I gained back then only emerged during some recent life challenges, but is obviously one that I have permanently connected with and will serve as a cornerstone to my well-being forever. w3rd.I constantly dream of living somewhere amongst the Rockies' splendor, to pursue a broad spectrum of my interests and passions - and earn a living at the same time.Tris

Thanks Bill - I had a great time during my brief visit. It's definitely an experience I will always remember. The trail was in very good condition, and I didn't see much of any litter along the way. I am curious whether or not it was a bear I spotted rolling around in the dirt by that lake in the photo. I was pretty far away so couldn't tell for sure. There were definitely deer around there grazing - would bears coexist with them near a watering hole?I'm impressed that you are paying attention to blog mentions - definitely a great way to connect with people and spread the word about your organization. I found CTF on Facebook and connected there. Keep up the great work! Thanks again for reaching out Bill.
